Working within 25 developing countries, Compassion are committed to maintaining the spiritual, economic, social, physical and emotional development of children living under extreme poverty conditions.
The entire team at Tim Stewart Architecture is proud to be associated with Compassion and will continue to support the valuable work that they do.
Below are just a few Compassion projects Tim Stewart Architects have been involved with.
SECOND CHANCE GIVEN TO KENYAN KIDS
Tim Stewart Architects proudly partners with Compassion Australia to support highly vulnerable children in Kenya. Together we have provided business training, equipment and supplies to Grace Kutwe, a caregiver of eight underprivileged children living together in Kibera, southern Nairobi.
Through this support, Grace is able to operate a small, local business selling kerosene and milled maize flour with the profits benefiting the eight children in her care. The family is now financially self-sustained and her eight-orphaned children enjoy a stable home. Through this new lease on life, the children are provided with many new opportunities including a school education.
UGANDAN COMMUNITIES RECEIVE BASIC HUMAN RIGHT
Tim Stewart Architects proudly partners with Compassion Australia to provide three Ugandan communities with clean, safe drinking water.
Through this partnership, more than 3600 Compassion assisted children and their families have received access to this much-needed resource, with another four communities soon to benefit.
Families no longer have to face the threat of walking long distances or queuing for hours at the town well to receive access to water. Lives are no longer at risk with the threat of waterborne diseases and children are healthy enough to attend school, learn, grow and develop.
MEDICAL TREATMENT AND A HOME FOR ETHIOPIAN CHILDREN
Tim Stewart Architects proudly partners with Compassion Australia to release Ethiopian children from the clutches of poverty.
Together we provide a safe, secure environment for five highly vulnerable orphaned children from Harar, Ethiopia. Our support provides a permanent home for them and their caregiver, as well as medical treatment and assistance, food support, clothing, household utilities and supplies, toys and school supplies.
Now, these children have the opportunity to experience a healthy, loving childhood, free from the threat of abuse and exploitation. They are able to attend school and interact with their friends and peers without fear of discrimination.
FAMILIES REBUILD AFTER DESTRUCTIVE FLOODING
Tim Stewart Architects proudly partners with Compassion Australia to help rebuild new homes for families in Burkina Faso who lost their homes and possessions in heavy flooding in 2009.
The partnership has allowed for 635 new homes to be constructed, with a further 465 families to benefit, bringing the total of new homes to 1100. Contributions were also made towards the repair and rebuilding of four Compassion child development centres.
“We had become like refugees, crowded in a small room. Now, we will enjoy peace and protection from dangers in this new house!” – Ablasse Compoare, father of Compassion assisted child in Burkina Faso.
